Newborn Morgan...To Toddler Morgan!
Morgans momma Katie, reached out to me to schedule her newborn session and gave me free rein on colors and themes. That seems to be my most favorite thing ever because it truly lets my artistic abilities flow!
I opted for some light blues and teals, plums, pinks, and green with of course the neutrals and browns added in! definitely not a combination that immediately comes to mind, however how perfect are they?!
I can still remember how absolutely perfect this little munchkin was, and I can't even believe were already done with her first year!
One of the things I try to always capture, is the macro detail shots.
I know to some this doesn't make sense, why would you purchase photos of fingers, toes, milk spots, hair, etc. however when I tell you that you blink and they change...im not joking.
Their creases on their fingers, change so so so qukickly.
One day you wake up and somewhere before the month marker, your babe will be missing all of their milk spots on their nose, their hair will change color and texture, there skin will slowly lose that red hue, their feet will change from tiny scrunched baby feet, to dirt stained toddler toes running freely without shoes, it all just changes so quickly it feels necessary to really get those details to remember!
and of course, I always recommend family and siblings shots! They truly are so important and beautiful staples to have on the walls! Tyler and his sister were absolutely perfection in these, and come on- look at their mama and daddy!!!
Morgans next session was her six month milestone session!
You can already tell she thought she was getting big and strong!
Ready to show off that personality and her new skills!
We even added in a little vacation photoshoot ;)
Since she turned six months in the summer, what was a better addition to her session than to add in a set to get the summer vibes in there?
Of course, mama gives me free reign with colors so I really wanted to stay similar to those we chose for her newborn session, with some additions as well!
And I couldn't miss those mama and me shots either.
These are some of my absolute favorite "growth" photos of a babes first year is watching how she changes with her mama!
And the detail shots? Don't get me started again on there!
Just compare these to the newborn ones, and you'll see the difference only 6 months made!
And then, it became time to plan the cake smash.
Katie had no preferences for cake smash theme, she wanted to keep it the same and hand over the reigns to me for the choices. After searching forever and sending backdrop and theme options, we ended up both falling in love with this cute VW set, and how much more perfect would it be that her mama and daddy have a VW bug that they used during their wedding?!?!
Like tell me that isn't fate!
When I sent it to her momma, and she told me about their VW Bug...I knew it HAD to happen!
Before the cake smash & bubble bath splash you see here, we also do the regular portraits too! Because not everything during it has to be 100% themed!
These little portraits are the most timeless and classic gorgeous photos that look good on any of your walls!
And let's not forget still matching the colors we've used from newborn until now!
She seriously was sososo smart learning to play the piano and truly mastering it during her session while looking fabulous LOL!
It amazes me how quickly they grow up and making these blogs to show their first year really does get me teary eyed!
After the portraits, we made sure to grab those precious mama and me photos as well, checkout how much she's grown!!
And even more so.... the macro detail photos!
Seriously, take a look at all three detail photos over the year and see how much these details completely changed!! It is absolutely amazing!
